  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Can adjust based on preference.
For the Egg Rolls
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers Check for halal compliance.
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use a neutral oil like vegetable or canola.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until the apples are well-coated.
  2. Take an egg roll wrapper and lay it on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  4. Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides before rolling it upward tightly. Seal the edges with a little water.
  5. In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the egg rolls a few at a time. Fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Once done, place the fried egg rolls on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

Notes

To ensure perfect Apple Pie Egg Rolls, substitute apples with pears or add raisins, fry in small batches for crispiness, and make sure the edges are sealed tightly to prevent leaks during frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, and reheat in an oven set to 350°F for best results. You can freeze them before frying, separating each with parchment paper.
