Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well blended.
- Add the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture and blend until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring until the dough forms, being careful not to over-mix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about a minute.
- Flatten the dough into a rectangle, about 1-inch thick.
- Cut the dough into small rounds or squares.
- Place the biscuit pieces on a greased baking sheet, leaving space in between.
Baking
- In a separate bowl, combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon. Brush each biscuit with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm.
Notes
Use cold butter for flakiness and do not overwork the dough to prevent tough biscuits.
