Ingredients
  

Biscuit Base
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Standard all-purpose flour.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Leavening agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 cup sugar For sweetness in the dough.
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed Use cold for flakiness.
  • 3/4 cup milk Adds moisture.
Topping
  • 1/4 cup sugar for topping To mix with cinnamon.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon for topping Gives the bites their flavor.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter for topping To brush on before baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well blended.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture and blend until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring until the dough forms, being careful not to over-mix.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about a minute.
  6. Flatten the dough into a rectangle, about 1-inch thick.
  7. Cut the dough into small rounds or squares.
  8. Place the biscuit pieces on a greased baking sheet, leaving space in between.
Baking
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon. Brush each biscuit with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Let them cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm.

Notes

Use cold butter for flakiness and do not overwork the dough to prevent tough biscuits.
